As a Schonberg Care Assisted Living Community, our number one priority is always the safety and wellbeing of each of our residents. If you talk to one of our residents or their families, they'll be the first to tell you that our emphasis on individualized quality of care is what matters most to them, and providing that exceptional level of care is our top concern, day in and day out.
We operate within the exclusive “Schonberg Neighborhood Concept,” which focuses on grouping residents with shared needs and abilities. We have found this to be highly successful in further enhancing specialized care capabilities and stimulating social activity and interaction. Residents that require only minimal assistance with day-to-day life are able to enjoy a fulfilling dual sense of independence and support, living comfortably in our home-like environment without the stress of managing a household. Other residents requiring more specialized care for varying stages of Alzheimer's and dementia are provided higher levels of assistance and security. Our families enjoy peace of mind knowing that their loved ones are receiving the appropriate level of care to accommodate their specific needs.
"Several times each day, we answer the question, 'Is this in the best interest of each of our residents?' If the answer is yes, then we can't go wrong. This simple operating philosophy is the secret to our continued success." —David Schonberg
David began his extensive career in the senior retirement industry shortly after earning his MBA and MHA from Tulane University. He broke ground on his first assisted living community, The Suites at Sugar Mill Point, in Houma, LA in January of 2001. He went on to develop Alden Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care in Hattiesburg, MS before acquiring ownership of three South Carolina assisted living communities; Marchbanks in Anderson, Magnolias of Summerville in Summerville, and Pendleton Manor in Greenville. All three communities proudly bear the Schonberg name and distinction, as well as Schonberg’s exceptional standard of care. From there, David and his team went on to open two additional luxury assisted living and memory care communities: Vista Shores overlooking Bayou St. John in New Orleans, and the stately Ashton Manor in Luling, LA. In September of 2014, Schonberg debuted the highly anticipated Beau Provence Memory Care Assisted Living, the first and only memory care exclusive community in Mandeville, LA. Beau Provence was developed using ‘The Schonberg Neighborhood Design’ concept, which offers incremental levels of care depending upon individual resident needs and represents the highest and most personalized standard of care in the industry. Through his growing number of successful ventures, David has proven his innate ability to conceptualize, develop, and manage unique communities and programs that provide the utmost of excellence in state-of-the-art care.
